Radiosurgery: The LINAC Scalpel in Action
The Linac Scalpel (or stereotactic linear acclerator) operates
by producing multiple precise arcing beams of X-rays focused on
an intracranial lesion. This picture demonstrates how the patient
is fixed in place with the localizing ring while the Linac Scalpel
arcs around his head.
