This animated gif will demonstrate how the LINAC rotates thru an arc as radiation is being delivered to your lesion. This animation shows the LINAC arcing five times. In actuality the machine arcs only once, taking approximately one minute to complete. The table on which the patient lies is then turned slightly, and another arc is performed. Most patients receive about nine arcs. Patients with more complicated lesions typically require more arcs, and therefore take longer to treat.
