RADIOSURGERY DAY EVENTS

The patient, with head ring still in place, is asked to lie down on the treatment couch of the LINAC. Two loose straps are then applied, mainly to provide arm support for the patient during treatment.

After the patient's head ring is attached to the LINAC table, the gantry makes a series of precisely defined arcs. These arcs have been carefully programmed to deliver a high dose of radiation to your lesion, while delivering little or no radiation to the surrounding normal brain.
